Service Details

The research data we have show a clear link between the emotional intelligence of managers and the level of engagement of the people they manage.

Emotions are part of our make-up and they impact on us and everyone around us every day. The ability to recognise, understand and manage our emotions is what acquiring and displaying emotional intelligence is all about.

We offer a combination of a briefing session, on-line assessment and debriefing, our engagement snapshot, and tried and tested development programmes. You choose the combination that best suits your needs. All of this is to help you create higher levels of employee engagement by improving the emotional intelligence of you leaders, managers and employees.

Briefing Session

The briefing session covers the science of emotions and how this influences emotions, decisions, behaviour and performance. The Genos Model of Emotional Intelligence is explained to highlight the range of competencies that are required for people to be productive. Participants are then invited to undertake a short self-assessment. Finally, the session explores how to build a

positive workplace. This leads naturally to an explanation of how the full assessment process works and their role in it.

The main assessment tools we use are:

The Genos Emotionally Intelligent Workplace Behaviours Assessment

This is appropriate for workshops, conferences or front-line employees and can be compiled in Self, 180 or 360 formats.  The items measured are Self Awareness, Awareness of Others, Authenticity, Emotional Reasoning, Self-Management and Positive Influence. The participant gains an insight into how well they display these behaviours and how important the behaviours are

in their workplace. Participants also receive a Development Tips Workbook to help them develop their competencies.

The debriefing session provides a constructive environment for discussing the findings and participants get practical tips on how to get feedback from others.

The Genos Emotionally Intelligent Leadership Behaviours Assessment with Engagement Snapshot

This is relevant for emerging, front-line, middle and senior leaders and can be completed in Self, 180 or 360 formats.  The items measured are Self Awareness, Awareness of Others, Authenticity, Emotional Reasoning, Self-Management and Inspiring Others. The 180 version is designed for frontline to supervisor development; the 360 version is suitable for middle to senior

leadership development. As with the Workplace Behaviours assessment the participant gains an insight into how well they display these behaviours and how important the behaviours are in their workplace. The results are presented in benchmark, raw and gap formats. Free text comments are gathered and included in the reports. There is an Engagement Snapshot that shows

how engaged the other respondents are. Participants also receive a Development Tips Workbook to help them develop their competencies.

The debriefing session provides a constructive environment for discussing the findings and participants get practical tips on how to get feedback from others. As this also has an employee engagement focus the session reinforces the link between improving their emotional intelligent behaviours and improving the level of employee engagement in others.

Motivating and Engaging your Team Most leaders know that at the heart of every productive and successful business lies a thriving organisational culture and recognise that keeping people engaged, motivated and committed is a critical part of their role. However, those same individuals will also tell you that motivating employees and keeping them engaged isn’t easy.

Many factors influence an individual’s motivation ranging from the day-to-day tasks they complete, right through to the working styles of their colleagues. What is motivating for one can be de-motivating for others. This two-day programme addresses these issues. The content is aimed at leaders who want to motivate their staff and drive not only better employee performance,

but also higher levels of employee engagement, satisfaction and success.
